8 footers we're obsessed with

Footers are the part of the page most designers rush through – and then sometimes you scroll to the bottom of a site and something completely stops you in your tracks. We've been collecting the ones that made us post "omg look at this" in our swipe file channel without any other context, because the footer speaks for itself. Here are 8 we keep coming back to.

1. New Genre Studio

Absolutely unhinged, in the best way

Marina dropped this one with "holy moly their footer is crazy" and the whole team agreed immediately – Amber's response was "wowowowow so good" and Jaz just said "OMG." Sometimes a footer is so committed to a vision that there's nothing left to say. This is one of those. Go see it for yourself and try not to make the same faces we did.

2. KOA Kids

Eyes that follow your cursor

The footer on this Australian kids' brand has illustrated eyes that genuinely track your mouse as you move across the page. It sounds like a gimmick but it's executed so well it just feels like magic – the kind of delightful detail that only makes sense when you remember this is a site for children, and then makes even more sense when you realise it works just as well on adults who design websites for a living.

3. Bam Jam Protein

A footer that earned "why is this so funny"

Jaz's original reaction was exactly that – "why is this footer so fun/funny" – and honestly that framing is more useful than a long description. What makes it special isn't just the layout; it's the CTA. There's no form sitting on the page. You click the button, the form appears. Clean, a little theatrical, and the hover state on that button is worth the visit alone.

4. Swim Club

When branding goes all the way to the bottom

This one is a masterclass in thematic consistency. The footer logo animates in a way that's a very deliberate nod to the product, and little animated spermies follow you down to the bottom CTA on the homepage. It's cheeky in exactly the right amount and proof that if you commit fully to a concept, it stops being weird and starts being genius.

5. flim.ai

An animation worth scrolling for

Donna posted this one with a single heart-eyes emoji and no further explanation, which is arguably the highest form of design praise. SaaS footers are where joy usually goes to die – utilitarian links, muted colours, a copyright line that nobody reads. Flim's footer does something different with motion that makes you want to scroll back up just so you can scroll back down again.

6. Hiro Diapers

The footer that makes an entrance

Most footers just appear. This one slides over the last content section as you scroll, like it's arriving rather than just being there. It's a small interaction but it completely changes the rhythm of the page – suddenly the footer feels like a destination rather than the place where the page gave up. The rest of the site is full of thoughtful touches like this, but the footer is the one we keep mentioning.

7. Loonen

Worthy of a genuine crying emoji

Jaz's full review: "love the hero video on this! and look at the footer…. 😭" – with the crying-with-joy face doing all the heavy lifting. There are sites where you can feel the care that went into every decision, and Loonen is one of them. The footer is the punctuation mark at the end of a very well-written sentence. Scroll down and see what we mean.

8. Lab 46

Assets, vibes, the whole thing

"The assets + vibes are 🔥" – Jaz's words, and we're fully co-signing them. Lab 46's footer has the rare quality of feeling like it was designed with the same intention as the rest of the site rather than assembled at the end when everyone was tired. Strong type, considered layout, and a general sense that getting to the bottom of the page is actually rewarding. A perfect note to end on.

Footers are having a moment – and we're here for it. If you've spotted one recently that made you lose your mind a little, share it with us. Our swipe file channel has exactly zero complaints about new additions.

💙 Sincerely, your Otherhalf

“A footer can be an afterthought, but it’s the first thing I check on any site to see if the design team actually cared.”
